How public listing Q&A works
How public questions work, how owners answer them, and how useful answers become reusable FAQs.
Quick answer
Questions and owner answers appear publicly on the listing. Use Q&A for general item information; keep booking-specific or private details in Messages and the booking.
What appears publicly
Renters can ask general questions from a listing. The question, the renter’s display name, and the owner’s answer are visible to everyone who views that listing.
A clear answer helps the person who asked and can give future renters the information they need before starting a booking.
Ask a useful question
- Ask about item compatibility, included accessories, dimensions, condition, or general handoff options.
- Check the listing description and existing answers first so owners do not receive the same question repeatedly.
- Use Messages or the booking for questions that only apply to your dates or handoff.
Answer a question
- 1
Open your Q&A inbox
Go to Q&A in your dashboard and open the Needs reply tab.
- 2
Write a reusable answer
Answer directly and include item details that will also help future renters. You can save a draft before posting.
- 3
Post the answer publicly
The question moves to Answered and the response appears on the listing.
Keep private details in the booking
- Do not post an address, access code, phone number, email address, or payment information.
- Do not include renter-specific schedules or other details that should only be visible to the booking parties.
- Move private coordination to Messages and confirm booking changes through the available booking actions.
Q&A is public
Everyone viewing the listing can read its questions and answers. Use Messages for private or booking-specific details.
Edit, remove, and pin helpful answers
- Owners can edit an answer from the listing when item details change.
- Deleting a question removes the full public question-and-answer thread and cannot be undone.
- Owners can pin up to three answered questions as FAQs and reorder them so the most useful answers appear first.
